21st August qualifying night and Carnival racing is on 22-23rd August 2020
We love our track cycling and want this event to look forward to. While the duration and impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is uncertain we are optimistic that as a nation we beat it and that domestic travel and sporting events will be up and running by August.
The dates of 21 -23 August 2020 are provisional and will be confirmed, postponed or cancelled as events and changing health rules demand. We encourage you to block out that weekend in your calendars and get prepared as soon as you feel confident. The committee of volunteers is preparing for the event now and this website will be updated when possible.
The J.Swap Masters Track Cycling Carnival is a unique masters only (age 30+) track event featuring the North Island Sprint Cup and the North Island Endurance Cup. It includes four sprint events and four endurance events with points accumulated over the weekend from race results.
The event will have masters track riders entering from all around New Zealand (international riders are also welcomed) and will likely include world champion title holders and ex-elite masters riders, making for some entertaining racing. The event is suitable for newly accredited riders to track racing, with race options including non bunch racing and team events.
Spectator entry is free, with masters track riders sure to inspire all who come to watch the racing. Other activities will be available including sponsors exhibition stands, experience Gallagher bike skills park, have a coffee at The Bikery Café or pop in to visit Mike at the Avanti Bike Shop. We look forward to you joining us at the Drome!
